Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 29, and the royal couple chose to spend the special day at home. According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed back to their farmhouse on Anglesey, Wales after they attended their close friends' wedding in Wingfield, England on Saturday.
"They went back to Anglesey yesterday evening. So they are having a low-key night in their cottage this evening," spilled a source to E! News on Sunday. Daily Express claimed that the pair had a candlelit meal at their Anglesey home with Kate preparing the French dish of fish cooked in parchment.
On Saturday, Will and Kate came as guests at the wedding of Hannah Gillingham and Robert Carter at St. Andrews Church. For the event, the Duchess chose to wear the blue lace Erdem dress she donned on her first royal tour to Canada. Speaking of the couple, one onlooker told Us Weekly, "They were beaming."
The witness went on to dish, "They sat close to the front of the church, so they had to walk down the aisle together to get there. It made a few people chuckle." It was also said that "lots of people congratulated them on their first year anniversary, but they seemed quite keen not to take any attention away from the bride and groom."
Also spotted joining the twosome at the Saturday wedding was Kate's sister Pippa Middleton as well as friends like Emilia d'Erlanger, Nicholas and Alice van Custem, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher and his wife Louise, and Tom van Straubenzee.
